First Step to getting a decent snail mail friend

With the vast & exciting world of Internet, It really shouldn't be too hard to find a pen pal.My first attempt at trying to find one was posting an AD on Craigslist, where I posted to several countries I was interested in. Now because Craigslist is a site where typically Men and Women are just trying to hook up on It was hard getting replies that matched my interests(I was getting to many marriage and date offers). But there was one email that stood out from the rest.I had gotten a reply from a guy around my age from "Mother" Russia. At first I didn't think we would have much in common. He joked that perhaps I was a spy, which I still find myself laughing at, and I thought he may have been an uptight Russian, who like everyone else in the world didn't like Americans. But after a few Long, Lengthy letter exchanges I found out we actually had more in common than we would ever know.Yea, we did have our in differences and our cultures are not at all the same. But what I did find out is that like me , He was just a young person who liked to fun with his girlfriend and friends, and that he didn't despise Americans as much as I thought he would. After loads of exchanges he recommended me to an international pen pal site called Interpals.net .Since I had told him about all the cultures i was into he thought it would be good for me to find a site that solely focused on the art of Pen Paling. Interpals.net was just about the best site for that. You can complete a profile much like Facebook and design it so that when others are looking for pen pals with similar interests you'll come up in a search. That was really the jumpstart of my pen pal journey. Although me and my Russian Pal no longer write to each other like we used to Interpals.net helped me find about 9 people I've found to love like family just through letter wrtiting.Perhaps you should check it out....

Introduction to penpaling

Have you ever wanted to share your experiences, thoughts and ideas with someone you normally wouldn't expose yourself to in your everyday life? Does the Internet and IM bore you and make you feel as though you're wasting away on the PC, but still like connecting with people of all walks of life? Want to get something other than bills in the mail every once in a while?

If you said yes to any one of those questions one world i would like to expose to you is the World of Pen paling.I started Pen Paling about 2 years ago and have gained many friends of ages ranging from 19-32, from different countries like Denmark, Brazil and Italy. What drew me to the world to Pen Paling are the fake, vapid, unintelligent people that surround me and while i do have close friends nothing compares to the relationships I've developed with the friends that i pen pal with.I almost no longer consider them pen pals as I've shared so much with them about their lives and they've shared so much with me in return.

Sitting down writing a letter isn't for everyone. In fact many people my age find more comfort in Instant Message and Email friendships. But to me nothing lights up my face like seeing a letter or a package from one of my overseas friends.Period!
